Panaji, June 26 (IANS)

In Goa, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has targeted four lakh people as its members under its membership campaign.

It is slightly less than one-third of the state’s population.

The membership campaign starts on July 6.

BJP general secretary Sadanand Shet Tanwade gave this information on Wednesday.

In a press conference at the BJP headquarters of the state, Tanwade said that the party will focus on booths, where it has received fewer votes in the last year’s elections.

Tanvade said, “We have targeted four lakh members across the state for the primary membership of our party, before that the members had to give five rupees as fee, this time we have waived the membership fee and the subscription Will be free. ”

The primary membership campaign of the party is run every five years in the country.

The state’s population is 1.5 million.

The BJP’s aim is to make a population of four lakhs as primary members, which is less than one-third of Goa’s population.
